Carpool Safety Tips

• Meet the person you are considering driving with ahead of time in a public place.
• Discuss expectations around driving safety.
• Confirm the persons phone number by calling it, exchange photo ID's (driver's license), verify addresses, background checks, etc...
• Let others know who you will be riding with and record license plate numbers.
• Ask to see the driver's insurance information and make sure that the car has a valid inspection.
• Exchange emergency contact information with who you will be riding with.
• Make drop off or pick up points at a public location.
• Discuss carpool expectations with riders. Let riders know upfront if you don't always plan on carpooling.
• Trust your instincts.
